Heritage Baptist Church Missions and Outreach Efforts
Within the Church:
Children In Action (CIA): Children in Action is a comprehensive missions education organization, for boys and girls in grades 1–6, which includes praying for missions, engaging in missions action and witness, learning about missions, developing spiritually toward a missions lifestyle, participating in the work of the church and denomination, and supporting missions.

Through participation in Children in Action, children grow in their knowledge, understanding, and application of the Bible. They also learn from the example of missionaries, believers, and hands-on mission action what it means to actively engage in ministering to others with the compassion of Christ.
Mission Friends: Mission Friends is the church missions organization of WMU for preschoolers ages birth through prefirst. The primary objective of Mission Friends is to provide a strong foundation for preschoolers in a Christian and missions lifestyle.
Mission Friends provides developmentally appropriate missions learning experiences to help preschoolers move from a self-centered focus to a focus on others, to become aware that not everyone knows about God's love, and to understand ways they can help others know about this good news!
AWANA: Awana is a Sunday evening Bible-centered program for children ages 2 years old through 6th grade that focuses on learning God’s Word in a fun atmosphere. Each week from 6:15 - 7:45 pm,  Awana provides consistent, positive teaching and training that stresses strong moral and spiritual values. Our clubbers learn about the reality of God and the truth of the Bible. Incentives and awards are used to encourage children to progress.
In The Community:
Kids Hope: Now in its 5th year here at HBC, the Kids Hope Program matches 1 adult "Mentor" with 1 Pinch Elementary School child .  The mentor and child spends 45 minutestogether  per week at the school.  During that time the adult assists the child with school work and also talks and plasy with them.  Through this program - the child's emotional, social and academic needs will hopefully be met, and the mentor will be able to demonstrate christian qualities through their actions.
Please pray for the program - its leaders, the mentors and the children they have been  matched with.  We are sure your prayers will have a powerfully positve effect on the program!
Lerma: (Lower Elk River Ministerial Association):
An organization that collects and distributes foodstuffs and other items such as toiletries etc. to give to the needy in the Pinch/Elview area.
"Toy Store": This is the newest mission outreach spearheaded by HBC in our local community.  This program's goal is twofold.  1) To help parents provide presents for their children during Christmas time and 2) to show God's love to our neigbors therough our actions.  What sets this christmas toy program apart is that those running the effort on-site will have an opportunity to speak to  those adults participating in the purchase of toys - with the intent to reach the lost or unchurched with the gospel message of Gods unconditional love.  This program is registered through the United Way's "Christmas Bureau" program to ensure that duplication of services does not occur.

This effort needs volunteers as well as toys and monetary gifts.  If you are interested in doing either please call the church office at 304-965-7396 as soon as possible!
Internationally:
Belarussian Relief Ministry:
The Heritage Belarussian Ministry partners with the American Belarussian Relief Organization (ABRO) to bring children from the country of Belarus who were affected by the Chernobyl Nuclear Disaster. The program brings children to WV for 6 weeks in the summer in an effort to meet their physical, spiritual, and emotional needs.
As the children are helped, relationships are built and the Love of Christ is spread.
